- Leave all valves open overnight or long enough for the waste pipe to drip completely dry. Close all valves, then go back inside the RV and add several gallons of water to just one tank. Wait about 30 minutes, then head outside and slowly uncap the waste pipe.
Why Is My RV leaking water from the bottom?
It’s likely the city water connection where the PEX is crimped to it. It’s pretty common to have a leak there. It’s easy enough to pull the connection and check if that’s leaking.
Why is my black tank leaking?
If your black tank is only leaking when it’s full, the problem typically isn’t near the drain valve, but rather near the top at one of the connections (vent or drain pipe) or the tank itself has been compromised (ie, a crack near the top).
What are the red and blue hoses under RV?
They are the “low point” drains. Blue is the cold and red is the hot side. For those that winterize their RV they are used to drain all the water from the fresh water system.
What size PEX is in my RV?
In RVs, manufacturers typically use translucent non-colored PEX for all plumbing runs. Further, two sizes are used, 3/8-inch and ½-inch. These are the standard size because the outside diameter of the tubing is about 1/8-inch greater than the called-for size. Also, PEX is inexpensive.
Do all campers leak?
Since all campers have the potential to leak, all campers have the potential to have water damage. The best way to avoid water damage is to do regular preventative maintenance. Regularly inspect your RV roof and check all seams and seals for cracking and peeling.

Septic Tank Cleaning
Pumping Septic Tanks From Sydney to Victoria Is it necessary to get your septic tank drained out? Even if you do recall, when was the last time you got your tank pumped out? In the event that your septic system begins to malfunction, untreated or partially treated wastewater may begin to surface over the dispersion field or even back up into your home. The most common reason for septic system failure in the CRD is a lack of maintenance, such as failing to do regular septic tank pump-outs.
