Big Show selects the most embarrassing moment of his WWE career
In a recent interview with Fox News, Big Show remembered some of the most memorable moments from his lengthy and illustrious WWE career. It was during this conversation that the giant confessed his most embarrassing incident, while also revealing the factors that contributed to his extraordinary lifespan. The sumo battle against Akebono, when I had 40 yards of silk shoved up my ass and it got wet and tightened up as a result. That was possibly the most humiliating moment in the history of wrestling, in my opinion.
I mean, personally, I don’t have an ego; I just go out and have a good time.
Whatever it is, I’m having a good time doing it.
Don’t put too much stock in your own abilities.
So if you’re having a good time, the audience is having a good time with you,” Big Show revealed.
WWE wrestling on Sky
I’m not sure whether this is the proper forum for my question. I was flipping through the sports stations about 7.30 a.m. on Thursday morning when I happened to see the WWE wrestling match. A lady was fighting a man, which drew my attention because I normally don’t pay attention to this kind of thing. That seemed odd to me at the time. The male wrestler was of non-American ethnicity, and he had a large head of curly black hair that was frizzy (sorry I do not know the names). He battled with her and wrestled her to the ground before winning the fight.
- Because of the time constraints, Sky did not broadcast this and instead simply freeze-framed the shot, after which she was shown with all of the apple and other goodies on her face.
- That it was a male against a woman was even more disturbing given the context in which it occurred.
- Defecating on someone is the next step, whatever that is.
- This is the end of my rant!

412: Million Dollar Idea
‘Act Four’ is a play about a young woman who falls in love with a rich man. Please do not despise the player. Somehow, we’ve made it this far into the program without anybody attempting to earn a fortune through an old-fashioned con, or out-betting the casino, or out-performing the chances in some impossible method to beat the odds. With the tale from Shawn Allee, let’s put that right this very second!
In 1984, Michael Larson featured in a game show called Press Your Luck, which was shown on CBS. He was precisely the type of contestant that the producers enjoyed. He wore a plain grey suit with nothing flashy on it, and he had this aw shucks type of look on his face like he was some man from Ohio, which he was, when he was younger.
Game Show Host
Let’s get to know our second participant, Michael Larson. How are you doing today, Michael? What do you do for a living, Michael? I’m curious.
During the summer, I work as an ice cream truck driver. In this contest, I aim to earn enough money to avoid having to do that this summer.
Game Show Host
Do you happen to have it with you right now?
Producers that day were unaware of Michael Larson’s plan for Press Your Luck, a plan that was months in the making and promised to make him rich in half an hour. Michael Larson had come on to Press Your Luck with a plan, a kind of far-fetched plan, a take ’em to the cleaners plan, a plan that promised to make him rich in half an hour.

He has $56,851 in his pocket, and he’s going to go again.

Put a stop to it at $5,000.
Michael has spent his entire life concocting various schemes of varying complexity. Michael, on the other hand, passed away in 1999. As a result, you won’t be hearing anything about any of this from him. However, I spoke with his brother, James. Michael grew up as the youngest of four children. James was the oldest of the group. Michael, according to James, was busted as early as middle school for bringing candy bars into class and inflating the pricing by hundreds of percent above retail. And James claims that after high school, despite the fact that Michael was intelligent enough to attend college, he spent his time seeking for simple methods to get points.
He didn’t appreciate the value of good, honest hard labor, and he didn’t comprehend the importance of just going to work and doing your job till you were paid. He considered those individuals to be stupid.
Michael’s plans covered a wide range of topics. He registered his company in the name of a family member and then employed himself as an employee. He was charged with fraud. After that, he took a job in order to receive unemployment benefits. He’d be on the lookout for banks that will pay you $500 just for establishing an account with them. He’d open one and collect the $500 in the shortest amount of time possible. Then he’d take the money out of the account and try it again under a different name.
His residence was crammed with stacks of newspapers stacked everywhere, as well as boxes and mounds of paperwork, which he used to go through for probable frauds. He was never one to throw things away. He’d tell them that he could want their assistance.
He used to sit in front of the television at night and record all of the programmes that were broadcast on late-night television. You can make tens of thousands of dollars by performing one of these things or another. And he wholeheartedly agreed with me on it.
In the bathroom, he had a television. The one in the bedroom belonged to him. He had one in the kitchen, and he was using it. He would just carry them inside the room.
Teresa Bertram, Michael’s former common-law wife, is shown here.
He had something like 12 of them in his living room, all lined up on the walls. They were the ancient consoles, you understand. And he’d have one of them sitting on top of it, with the other one sitting on top of that one. In addition, we had a whole wall of 19-inch and 25-inch screens to watch. He would also watch them all at the same time. It became so heated in here that the paint started peeling off the walls.
Teresa admits that it was difficult for her to explain her television company to guests. Normally, she would just tell them that Michael was completely insane. Teresa, on the other hand, claims that he was meticulous in his television consumption. He’d change the station on each of the televisions. The plan was to keep an eye out for anything that may make him wealthy. He also enjoys watching commercials, infomercials, and, of course, game shows on television.
He was captivated by the game shows on television. And he was looking for one that he could complete.
Michael was certain that a clever person might identify loopholes in game shows that the typical person would never see. Consequently, he would record them throughout the day and play them again in the evening. Occasionally, Teresa claims, he would remain up all night fast-forwarding, rewinding, stopping, and re-watching television shows, particularly Press Your Luck.
I recall being in the kitchen when he called for me to come into the living room, and I obliged. And he was overjoyed and enthused about everything. And he told me, “I’ve got it now.” Finally, I’ve worked it out!
Understand how Press Your Luck works in order to comprehend what Michael was so enthralled by in the first place. If you are unfamiliar with or have forgotten about the program, you may have heard its catchphrase, “Big dollars, big bucks, no whammies.” Three participants would each take a turn at the show’s large gaming board during the show. In other ways, it looked like a giant Monopoly board with squares all around the perimeter. When a player took a turn, a light would bounce all over the place from square to square in no particular sequence until a player pressed a huge red button, which caused the light to stop bouncing all over the place.
However, if they weren’t lucky, they’d get smacked with a double whammy.
Everything appears to be straightforward.
According to you, to me, and to the rest of America, the light on the Press Your Luck gaming board moved in an arbitrary manner.
Michael was well aware that we had made a mistake. When Michael realized that there was nothing random about the gaming board, he was overjoyed. The light moved in one of five different patterns at all times.
He was attempting to memorize the patterns. He jotted down some thoughts. He jotted down a few notes. And then he started doing the VCR trick and pressing the pause button on his computer. He would take me into this room because he would become incredibly thrilled at that point. Keep an eye on this. I have the ability to halt it whenever I choose, wherever I am.
Michael spent months perfecting the art of pressing the pause button on his VCR at just the correct moment, always on a reward and never on a whammy. Here’s his brother, James, for your viewing pleasure once more.
At the time, I didn’t believe Michael’s claim that he was traveling to California for the summer. I figured he’d go out there and discover that it’s not quite as simple as you think it is. As a result, I wished them well. However, please do not contact me for bus money to return home.
This brings us back to the subject of the show.

Michael Larson is the author of this work. How are you doing today, Michael? What do you do for a living, Michael, I’m curious.
During the summer, I work as an ice cream truck driver.
On May 19, 1984, Michael took his place on the game show Press Your Luck. His grey hair is slicked back and receding a little while he watches the tape. His beard is on the verge of becoming grey. He seemed to be nervous.
Game Show Host
After all, Michael, you want to make enough money so that you won’t have to deal with your ice cream truck any more. However, all you want to do is eat the ice cream.
No, I’ve done more than enough of that as well.
Game Show Host
Isn’t it true that you’ve had a little too much ice cream? Hopefully, Michael, you won’t become addicted to money.
Darlene Lieblich Tipton
It was a typical day for me, with nothing out of the ordinary.
Among those in the control room were Darlene Lieblich Tipton, who was working with the director and producers. Her responsibility was to keep an eye on the game and ensure that everything was fair and square.
Darlene Lieblich Tipton
I’m looking at the same monitor that the director is looking at at the same moment. As a result, I see all of the camera angles and all of the photos. It’s actually one of the nicest seats in the entire stadium.
Darlene claims that at first glance, Michael Larson didn’t appear to be much of a threat.
I’m on my way, please stop.
Game Show Host
Hold on, I’m leaving.
When Michael gets a bad spin on his first spin, he shrugs it off and forces a grin on his face with his teeth clenched tightly together. He seemed to be unsure of himself. Before pressing the red button on his next turn, he takes a deep breath and lands a prize of $4,000 dollars and an additional turn. He does, after all, grin. But, maybe most importantly, he appears relieved. Following that, he gains greater self-assurance. Turn after turn, he amasses an ever-increasing sum of money. By the time he reaches 18 grand, he is thrown back in his chair.
He raises his fists above his head when he reaches 21 grand. Michael is literally dancing in his seat by the time he reaches the 28th grand. He’s on a roll right now. And everyone, including Michael, the presenter, the crowd, and the rest of the cast, is getting into it.
Darlene Lieblich Tipton
It was not uncommon for participants to go on streaks during the competition. It was almost the way the game was intended to be played. That’s when it became apparent to the general public that he was landing on the same reward in the same square on a consistent basis after, I don’t know, five to ten spins of the roulette wheel. And that talent is not a result of chance or chance-like circumstances.
He had the ability to aim and strike, something we didn’t believe was conceivable. And he went on to do it again and again. Nobody has ever done anything quite like that before. Everyone else had treated it as though it were a slot machine, and they were right. You simply press the button, and the vehicle comes to a halt where it is supposed to. He had it down to a great art, a superb skill, in fact.

With a price tag of $4,000 and a spin.
Darlene Lieblich Tipton
I’ve been in the booth for thousands of episodes of game shows, but I’ve never seen something like it before. At first, the booth was deafeningly quiet. Afterwards, there was an exclamation of “Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.” It was a question of what should we do. What are we supposed to do? It seemed like everyone was looking at me and asking, “Can we stop this?” He wasn’t violating any of the game’s regulations in any kind. I was unable to halt the game. He was following the regulations as they were laid out in front of him.
He was one step ahead of us.
Game Show Host
$5,000 in addition to a spin.
Michael’s streak had lasted so long that he had exceeded the half-hour time limit of the broadcast. To make the broadcast into an hour-long special, the host conducted an impromptu interview to fill up the gaps. (SUBJECT) HOST OF THE GAME SHOW: I’m curious as to what you intend to do with the money, Michael.
Invest in real estate.
Game Show Host
Real estate is a type of investment.
Yes, I’m talking about real estate.
Game Show Host
Not to mention not driving an ice cream truck.
Yes, you are correct.
Michael Larson had earned a total of $110,237 by the time the program came to a close. It wasn’t only for Press Your Luck that Michael had broken records on that day; he’d broken records for any American game show. He’d won more than anybody else had ever won in a single episode of the show.
Game Show Host
Congratulations. Make good use of your money. Also, remember to purchase your daughter a wonderful birthday present.
Congratulations. Make good use of your time and resources. Get a wonderful birthday present for your daughter, too.
James, Michael’s brother, has spoken once more.
Yes, I attempted to get him to look into some respectable assets, such as real estate, and perhaps purchase some. And he just deposited the money into a bank account, which I considered to be a really prudent decision. After a couple of months, he decided to take some of it out of his system.
“What exactly are you doing?” I inquired. He responds, “I’m not going to lie, I’m not going to lie.” “I’m attempting to win a contest that is being held on a radio station in the Dayton area. In addition, you must obtain a certain serial number “.
Every day, they would broadcast a serial number to the public through the radio. And if you can find a $1 dollar bill with the same serial number as the one you got, you win $30,000.
Teresa, Michael’s ex-wife, appears once again.
That piqued his interest, as well “I should be able to do the task. I received more one-dollar notes than anyone else in the neighborhood “. As a result, it took him more than two weeks. And it took him five different banks to finally acquire $100,000 and bring it in to the office! And he was carrying it in in the same way he did every day, in a canvas sack. And he even brought it into the building in a green garbage bag. It is shrink-wrapped after the Federal Reserve places $1 notes in $4,000 dollar packages on a piece of little, thin balsam wood and shrinks them.
When you enter into our bedroom, you’ll notice that they’re all neatly arranged under the bed.
They also piled hundreds of dollars in bills on top of televisions, VCRs, the stairs, and just about wherever else they could find. As soon as they received the $100,000, they closed the blinds and hunkered down for the night.
Aside from that, they piled hundreds of dollars in bills on television sets and video recorders, as well as on the stairs and just about wherever else. He and his wife hunkered down after they had amassed the sum of $1,000,000.00.
The money was separated into shopping bags and heaps by Michael and Teresa on a daily basis. They weren’t able to locate the numbers that matched the ones that had been stated on the radio. As a result, Michael returned half of the money to the bank. That left 50,000 $1 notes resting in garbage bags, dangling out of drawers, and tumbling out of closets, all of which were discarded. They were completely spent. As a result, they took a break one evening.
We went to a Christmas party that evening about 8 o’clock, 7:30 or 8 o’clock, depending on the time of day. And we were there for an extended period of time. It was around 1 o’clock or so when we arrived at our destination. His money has been stolen through the rear door, which was kicked in. The first thing he inquired about was whether or not I had accepted his money. As I already stated, “No, I did not accept your payment. I was in the same boat as you “. “Well, you hired someone to do it for you.” “No, I didn’t hire anyone to do that for me.”
This heist has remained an unsolved mystery to this day. Nonetheless, Michael was persuaded that Teresa had something to do with it at the time. Teresa was interrogated by the police multiple times. They were unable to find anything and gave up. Michael, on the other hand, did not.
In the middle of the night, he kept a tight eye on me. Moreover, he would come in and simply look at me and other such things. Moreover, I got an uneasy sense that he was planning on murdering me. Yeah. Apparently, he intended to put a pistol to my head. In the middle of the night, while I was sleeping, he would come in and simply stand there staring at me. In addition, it gave me the creeps like crazy.
So one day, when he was out running errands, I simply decided to take my children and go. I checked into a hotel, ordered a couple of pieces of luggage, and we simply remained there. And then I phoned him and instructed him to get out of my house as soon as possible.
Following this point, Teresa and James admit that their understanding of what Michael was up to was hazy. Here’s what we do know about the situation. Michael returned to his little hometown outside of Dayton, Ohio, where he met and married his new sweetheart. The couple left Ohio in 1999, nine years after Michael’s major triumph, for an undisclosed location in the United Kingdom. Teresa and James eventually discovered the reason for this from federal investigators. The couple became entangled in a massive swindle that included a pyramid scheme, phony investments, and Indian lotteries, among other things.
- Also noteworthy is that it was the first big online scam that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has ever examined.
- Teresa claims that she still has resentment at Michael for how he treated her.
- When Michael fled the United States government, he left behind a kid he’d had with his ex-wife, Teresa.
- Because of this, one of the things she said caught her by surprise: she remarked that it truly upsets her when people claim that he cheated Press Your Luck out of money from time to time.
I would add that the game show was one of the few things he did that was completely honest. He didn’t lie or deceive anyone. When it comes to memorizing anything, there is no such thing as cheating. He planned to sit here for six months and research it. That was a very remarkable performance.
However, Michael’s brother, James, still has conflicting views regarding Michael’s performance on Press Your Luck, even though it has been more than 25 years after the episode aired.
My impression is that his collapse began with his victory on the game show in which he competed. He was persuaded in his own mind that he could fool anybody and that he was capable of just about anything after winning such a big sum of money from a lottery.
Inquiring if he would do it if he could go back in time and change what happened, for example, rigging the system so that Michael would lose on Press Your Luck, I ask him this question. James is of the opinion that it is not. He’s relieved that Michael won. Simply put, he wishes that his brother had been a different sort of person, the kind of guy who could simply be content with what he had.

What were your thoughts when you had $30,000, $40,000, or $50,000 in your possession? What was it that kept you going?
Two things sprang to mind: first, it seemed natural. And the second was that I still had seven spins left, and if I passed them, I’d be in trouble.

Questions Remain About Using Treated Sewage on Farms
Every day, over 20 million gallons of sewage enter into the wastewater treatment plants of the city of Tacoma. When the water is separated and processed, it is dumped into the Puget Sound, where it leaves behind sludge, which is a mixture of human feces, industrial waste, and anything else that winds up in Tacoma’s sewage system. Further treatment of the product is performed in order to eliminate pathogens, bacteria, heavy metals, and smells, after which it is converted into a fertilizer known as biosolids, which is abundant in phosphorus, nitrogen, and other nutrients that aid in the growth of plants.
- In the case of TAGRO, “the emphasis has been on recycling and the generation of useful goods,” including clean water, renewable energy, soil amendment fertilizer, and biosolids, according to Dan Thompson, division manager of business operations for the company.
- Some farmers use it as a fertilizer since most wastewater treatment plants give it away for free or sell it at costs that are far lower than the cost of synthetic fertilizers, making it an attractive option.
- However, although some scientists, health experts, and environmentalists believe that employing biosolids in agriculture is a viable approach to close the loop on waste recycling, others believe that doing so is ruining the nation’s farmland and increasing a variety of health hazards.
- Darlene Schanfald, a member of the Sierra Club Washington, describes biosolids as a “witch’s brew” of poisonous compounds.
“No one can tell you if you’re safe.” Since a result of increasing testing, several states are taking a closer look at their biosolids and sewage management programs, as the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) has been found at levels that have alarmed health regulators and the public.
The dispute over biosolids ultimately boils down to two fundamental questions: Can anything be done to assure that they are safe? and Can they be recycled? And, if this trash cannot be repurposed as fertilizer, what can be done with it in the meantime?
It’s Not Just Poop: Private Industry Waste is a Growing Part of the Problem
The fact that factories, slaughterhouses, and other industrial enterprises are permitted to discharge their waste into the taxpayer-funded sewer system is one of the most contentious pieces of the sewage jigsaw. In order to decrease the quantity of pollutants that make it to the city’s treatment plant and, eventually, its biosolids, Thompson said that the city of Tacoma pretreats biosolids by continuously monitoring the discharge of upstream industries. Fourteen members of the team are responsible for monitoring the discharges from adjacent industries.
Even with strong pretreatment procedures in place and increased public knowledge of PFAS, it is not obvious that all water treatment plants are aware of which chemicals may prove to be detrimental in the long run.
While specialists identify the safest method of using or disposing of biosolids, Laura Orlando, a civil engineer at Boston University, feels a restriction on land application is in order while the issue is being investigated.
Since ancient times, farmers all across the world have been spreading human feces on fields to enrich the soil with nutrients. The method did not reach an industrial scale in the United States until the enactment of the 1972 Clean Water Act, which prohibited the practice (CWA). Prior to that, toxins were frequently thrown into the nation’s rivers, according to David Lewis, a former Environmental Protection Agency microbiologist who continues to do research on sludge. Communities were compelled to purify their water in treatment facilities under the Clean Water Act, but this resulted in an ever-increasing volume of sewage sludge.
Municipalities have also attempted to dump it in the ocean, but this has resulted in enormous dead zones.
Lewis claimed that while working for the Environmental Protection Agency, he opposed the regulation change and linked two fatalities that occurred about the same time to biosolids: “That’s what really brought public attention to the issue.” The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) only demands the removal of nine contaminants from biosolids, all of which are heavy metals, as well as live pathogens such as E.
- coli and Salmonella.
- According to waste management industry specialists, lime is frequently used to elevate the pH level of a solution in order to reduce smells.
- Composting has showed some promise in terms of destroying germs found in human waste.
- Several medications, pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB), trinitrotoluene (TNT), perchlorate, certain phthalates, and nonylphenol (NP), among others, can be greatly reduced in concentration by the composting procedure.
- Additionally, the time of composting as well as the manner of composting appear to be critical considerations.
- According to him, “there’s a common fallacy that treatment begins at the treatment plant, but pretreatment is a significant component of what we do.” The Department of Labor is in frequent communication with industry, and it is working hard to regulate at the source.
- In addition to conducting a biennial regulation review, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is in the process of revising its biosolids rules, according to a spokesperson for the agency.
- In response to growing public awareness about these concerns, firms like as Whole Foods and Del Monteto have pledged to stop purchasing goods cultivated with biosolids during the previous decade.
Biosolids were banned for the first time in Switzerland in 2003, and the state of Maine imposed limitations on their usage the following year. Several municipalities, including those in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Florida, have discontinued the practice of spreading sludge completely.
In a perfect world, human excrement would be used to cycle nutrients through the soil in a way that nourishes the soil and reduces the need for synthetic fertilizer, which would be the optimum use for human waste. However, some proponents believe that because the current system is so broken, it may be necessary to implement new, more innovative alternatives. Currently, sludge that is not converted into biosolids is either landfilled or burned, both of which are prohibitively expensive as compared to spreading it on farmland as fertilizer.
Orlando of Boston University have called for sewage sludge to be separated in landfills with methane controls until a more environmentally friendly solution can be found.
A limited percentage of the nation’s sewage is now contained in specialized landfills, and none of those facilities are equipped with methane controls.
The fact that you can load it onto your truck and deliver it to Farmer John’s field is insignificant.
Anaerobic digestion is one of the most effective methods of physically decreasing existing sludge currently accessible (a technique also being used to control waste on some dairy operations).
By decentralizing what she describes as an outmoded sewage infrastructure, Orlando believes that sewage loads may be more manageably increased and hence reduced.
Making the sludge “more stable, homogenous, and compact,” according to Orlando, is achieved by separating as much human waste from industrial waste as possible while dealing with fewer loads.
That might entail not connecting new and rising towns to existing massive urban networks, as well as altering arrangements when old treatment plants need to be upgraded or replaced.
According to Steve Stevick, chair of the Sierra Club’s Wastewater Core Residuals team, the government must also oblige business to appropriately and safely deal with its own waste rather than just dumping it into public sewers where it mixes with garbage from other companies.
Stevick went on to say that sewers are now “a subsidy to private enterprise” since the public pays to dispose of the trash generated by businesses.
She cited the fact that zero waste initiatives have discovered methods to repurpose industrial leftovers that were previously considered inedible, such as slag and sludge remaining from steel making.
In recent decades, that responsibility has gradually moved to local governments, who are now responsible for paying the bill and spending billions of dollars each year dealing with sludge.
While she vigorously supported the usage of biosolids and the technology used to create them, she acknowledged that lowering the quantity of hazardous chemicals in the environment is the most effective approach to get “the most bang for your buck.” “Can you tell me who the evil people are?
Schanfald and Lewis also cited some triumphs with pyrolysis, also known as gasification, which uses high heat to degrade compounds and bind heavy metals to activated carbon, as well as some failures.
A team of researchers from Florida A&M University and California Polytechnic State University recently released findings demonstrating that microwaving might be used to remove heavy metals from biosolids while still maintaining the beneficial nutrients contained within them.
Abby Rockefeller, an environmentalist, feels that the only trash that should be flushed down the toilet is the water used by humans to wash their hands.
Regardless of whether approach—or approaches—wastewater treatment facilities and legislators pick, the Sierra Club’s Schanfeld underlined that the present system cannot be sustained in its current form for much longer.
“We just cannot continue to pour biosolids on farms,” she stated emphatically. Our soil and our land are decaying and becoming poisoned as a result of this.”
